Celebrating Love your Pet Day With Your Dog

Posted by Rebecca Worsley on

We can celebrate Love Your Pet Day every day but for people with the busiest daily routine, giving your pet extra time and extra attention to celebrate this day will be extra special for them. Whatever pet you have they will, for sure, be happy to receive or do something out of the ordinary. Here are some ways to celebrate this day with your adorable pooch.

Try something new

If you walk the same route every day or go to the same park daily, try a different one today. Dogs love to explore new surroundings, they love to sniff on anything. So give them something new to discover and enjoy the new surroundings.

Have a play date

Dogs like to socialize and play with other dogs. Bringing them to a park or any place where dogs are free to run without a leash is a good way to give them some time to have fun instead of the usual backyard play time. Not all dogs like crowd though, so if that’s the case for your pet, try having a play date with just a couple.

Buy something special

Pet stores can be pretty costly. But, just like us (well, this is me, to keep me sane!) needing retail therapy, dogs enjoy special treats too. So, it’s nice to spend just a tad bit more for your pet on this day. Or if you’re more of a DIY kind of person, you can also make a homemade dog treat for them, or a homemade toy, clothes, etc.

Pampering Session

Humans need pampering especially after a great deal of stress. Also, this is one of the greatest ways to spend your “me time”. Dogs love that too. A day at a pet salon will surely give them that extra relaxing feeling after. Or, you can do it at home. Just make sure to do your research on the things that you will be using for your pet.

Adopting a dog

What better way of showing your love for dogs than to adopt those that are homeless. There are countless dogs being abandoned. No one wants to be abandoned. And I mean no one! So contact the nearest dog shelter/dog adoption center near you and spread some love.

How did you spend this day with your pet? Let us know!
